Objective of Website:

· Introduce the historical background of Baba and Nyonya.

· Introduce the food and cuisine of Baba and Nyonya.

· Introduce the Culture of Baba and Nyonya.

· Display the architectural style of Baba and Nyonya.

· Enhance the usage of photoshop in editing photo throughout the website.

Idea that will be developed and reason:

As our tutorial group has selected the topics of Culture and Heritage, our team came out with the idea of “The Baba House” as Baba and Nyonya culture is an unique culture in Malaysia. This Baba House is suitable the theme of “Promote Tourism” for tourists as their Malaysia Holiday Destination. During the 1^st meeting of our team, we have come out with several sub-topic for each individuals to be done. By creating the website, our team plan to introduce the history, food and cuisine, fashion, cultural, architectural style of Baba and Nyonya. Each team member will be responsible on each sub-topic. Our team’s main objective to preserve the culture and heritage of Baba Nyonya as we can see that this culture have been slowly faded away in Malaysia.

Demographics of the end-user:

    This website is mainly promoting the culture of Baba Nyonya to different layers of community among the tourism. Therefore the end-user of this website will be mainly tourists around 20-50 years old. With computer and modern equipment, youngest nowadays are more preferable of media-rich and multimedia-oriented application, so we will include more of the interactive multimedia application in the website that we are going to create. We will as well create as simple as possible, not complicated layout for easy usage of user.

Number of sub-topics:

Beside the main Homepage of our website, we will be creating 5 sub-topics. Each sub-topic will be assigned to 5 of our team members.

Initial Design Idea:

  Our initial design idea will base on the central theme “The Baba House”. We will be adopting the extended metaphor technique where a single main subject to which additional subjects and metaphors are applied. The additional subjects in this website will be each of our sub-topics respectively.
